Phase 2 lockdown – what can we now do?

People from one household can meet others from 2 households but only outside. The visitors can use the toilet. Shielded people can now meet with people from one other household but must minimise risk until at least 31 July.

29th June Some indoor work spaces can open subject to measures in place. Dentists and Opticians can open for emergency and essential services. Non-essential shops can open if they have outdoor entrances. Indoor shopping centres will remain closed. Registration Offices will reopen but only for essential business with marriages and civil partnerships allowed but only outdoors.

3rd July Scots can travel more than 5 miles for recreation. Visits to self-catering accommodation and second homes are allowed

6th July Beer gardens and outdoor spaces in restaurants will be able to reopen.

9th July Review of the current phase, Scotland may move slowly into Phase 3

10th July People may able to meet indoors with 2 other households

13th July Non-essential shops in shopping malls may open

15th July Shopping centres, libraries, museums, indoor pubs and restaurants and hairdressers may open. Childcare providers may open subject to arrangements.

  • any person from leaving the place they are living without a reasonable excuse
  • ban public gatherings of more than two people
  • people over the age of 70 are advised to self-isolate
Covid-19 Update for West Lothian Parks, Children's Play Parks and Allotments

Our parks can be used for exercise as long as the guidance on social distancing is adhered to and care is taken not to touch signs, railings etc.

Play Parks and Outdoor Gyms

It is very important that there is no use of children's play parks and outdoor gyms. Children's play areas and outdoor gyms are closed until further notice.


If your allotment site is open and you visit your allotment as your daily exercise, you must adhere to the guidance on social distancing and hygiene. Handwashing is especially important before and after. This will be reviewed. See below.
